Perfect Game All Americans

2018 Perfect Game All American Dawson Netz

Dawson Netz is committed to the University of Arizona.

Perfect Game Profile

A very athletic righthander who could also see action at Arizona as an infielder, if he were to reach college, Netz excels on the mound, with a fastball that sits in the 90-94 mph range to go with a mid-70s curveball, a changeup and outstanding command. He went 12-0, 0.26 as a junior at Maranatha High School, with 117 strikeouts and only 14 walks in 80 innings, along with hitting .365 with 15 stolen bases. Netz is also a 4.0-plus student in the classroom.

2014 Perfect Game All American Scottie Hurst

Scottie currently plays Cal State Fullerton Titans

Perfect Game report: Hurst owns five loud tools. His 99 mph throw from the outfield would have set the all-time PG National Showcase record had it not been for Michael Gettys' 100 mph throw earlier at the same event. He also posted an impressive 6.59 second 60-yard dash time and launched several balls into the seats beyond the right field wall in the Metrodome. Hurst also shows the ability to use those tools, with an advanced approach at the plate and good instincts in the outfield.

2014 Perfect Game All American Jack Flaherty

Jack was drafted in the first round by the St. Louis Cardinals

Perfect Game report: Built like a third baseman at 6-foot-4 and 200-pounds, Flaherty moves like a shortstop, ranging extremely well laterally to both sides. His size also allows him to feature massive raw power at the plate and he has shown the ability to use the entire field. Flaherty also ran one of the fastest times at the National Showcase with a 6.37 second 60-yard dash. His size, right-handed bat, overall athleticism and defensive actions are reminiscent of Scott Rolen.

2011 Perfect Game All American Lucas Giolito

Lucas was a first round by the Washington Nationals and is the #1 prospect in minor league baseball

Perfect Game report: Giolito has a wide array of pitches that he throws with confidence. A sinking fastball that is consistently in the mid-90s is his best pitch, but he also throws a mid-80s slider and a high-70s curveball. He has a large, strong build, combined with an easy delivery, downward throwing angle and high release point. Giolito can be overpowering on the mound, as he has a very high ceiling and polished tools. These attributes make him one of the top pitching prospects in the class. Perfect Game ranks Giolito #1 nationally among all pitchers.

2011 Perfect Game All American Max Fried

Max was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 1st round and was later traded to the Atlanta Braves.

Perfect Game Report: At 6-foot-4 and 170-pounds, Max Fried has unlimited growth potential. He pitches with smooth mechanics and a fast arm action. A hard sinking fastball and a sharp downward biting curveball are his best pitches, which allow him to work the bottom of the strike zone effectively. Fried is very athletic and is a 6.87 runner in the 60-yard dash. Perfect Game ranks Fried #3 nationally among all left-handed pitchers.

2009 Perfect Game All American Aaron Sanchez

Aaron was a supplemental draft pick by the Toronto Blue Jays and current pitching for the major league club.

Perfect Game Report: Aaron Sanchez is a 2010 RHP/1B/3B with a 6'3'', 170 lb. frame from Barstow, CA who attends Barstow HS. Lean athletic build, extra long arms/legs, athletic actions, really projects well. Balanced delivery, stays back well, accelerates to plate, repeats delivery, arm is extremely smooth/fast, high velocity arm, FB steady 92-94 mph with life, blows FB's past good hitters, flashes tight hard spin on CB, some feel for change he could throw more. Special arm and potential very high round pick. Good student. Aflac All-American.

2008 Perfect Game All American Jon Singleton

Jon was taken in the 8th round round by the Phillies and traded to the Astros.  He is currently play with the Houston Astros.

Perfect Game Report: Jonathan Singleton is a 2009 1B/OF with a 6'2'', 218 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Millikan HS. Jonathan is a very strong well built left handed hitter with big time power. He has lift in his swing and the ball flies off his bat like a rocket. He has easy power now, but he is also a very good all around hitter with a good approach at the plate. He put on a show in the inaugural Rawlings homerun challenge putting balls in the upper deck of the Metrodome, measured at well over 460 feet. He is an athletic player and light on his feet for a man his size and also has good arm strength at 1B. His power bat from the leftside will definitely bring out a lot of people to watch him. A top 2009 bat for next years draft. Aflac All American

2007 Perfect Game All American Aaron Hicks

Aaron was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the first round and currently playing with the Major league club

Aaron Hicks is a 2008 OF/P with a 6'1'', 160 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends Wilson HS. He has a greyhound body with lean, long features and tons of projection. Quite simply, Hicks has all the tools. He's a 6.45 runner who has both a long, easy stride in the outfield and a quick first step stealing bases. Hicks' arm strength is almost silly; we don't believe he was completely healthy at the showcase with stiffness behind his shoulder but he still threw 97 mph from the outfield (!!) and 95 from the mound with an 83 mph curveball. Hicks is a switch-hitter who looks to be pretty balanced as far as bat speed and approach is concerned from both sides of the plate. He's an aggressive hitter who takes a full cut at the ball and shows plus bat speed. If anything, Hicks might have to cut down his length/aggressiveness in his swing. There is no "hit the ball on the ground and run" to Hicks' approach, he's trying to crush the ball and has the tools to do it. It's a testament to Hicks' tools and ceiling as an outfielder that his 95/83 mph pitching ability is an afterthought. He's a first round type talent on both sides of the ball and that doesn't happen too often. A true 5-tool player. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American team.

2007 Perfect Game All American Chris Amezquita

Chris attending and graduated from Pepperdine and currently work as a sports agent for Beverly Hills Sports Council

Chris Amezquita is a 2008 SS/P with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from La Mirada, CA who attends Servite HS. He has a strong and mature big league type body with above average strength, especially for a middle infielder. Amezuita has a top level bat that plays at any position. He has a very quiet and confident approach with a low effort swing and outstanding bat speed. Amezquita's bat stays on plane with the ball a long, long time and he's balanced through contact. He hit the ball hard almost every at bat against some of the top pitching in the country and capped off his offensive performance with a long home run off of an inside fastball. He looks like a pro hitter right now. Defensively, Amezquita has excellent raw arm strength and clean actions at shortstop. The big question for him is going to be whether he has the quickness to remain in the middle of the field. He can for now but may end up at third base, where the transition should be seamless. Amezquita also throws 89-92 mph off the mound with a 73 mph curveball. He has all the tools and skills to be a very high draft pick and top level pro player. Amezquita is a good student who has a verbal commitment to UC Irvine. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American

2015 Perfect Game All American Nick Lodolo

Nick is committed to play for the TCU Horned Frogs.

Lodolo is one of the most projectable pitchers in the 2016 class with one of the highest ceilings. He's 6-foot-6, 185-pounds and just beginning to add mature strength. His delivery and arm action is silky smooth and easy and produces a four-pitch arsenal that includes an upper-80s fastball that will touch higher, plus a big-breaking curveball, slider and changeup.

2014 Perfect Game All American Marcus Wilson

Marcus was drafted in the 1st round by the Arizona Diamondbacks

Perfect Game Report: Wilson has a very high upside for a young athlete who has developed rapidly over the past year. He has shown good development as a hitter, and the transition from being a dead pull power hitter to becoming a more complete hitter has been both impressive and encouraging. His long athletic frame projects in a big way and his offensive tools combined with his raw athleticism, speed (6.5 second in the 60-yard dash) and arm strength (92 mph from the outfield) give him an intriguing prospect profile.

2011 Perfect Game All American Rio Ruiz

Rio was drafted the Houston Astros in the 4th and was traded to the Atlanta Braves currently playing AA

Perfect Game Report: There are two-sport athletes in the 2012 high school baseball class who are considered better football prospects than Bishop Amat High School quarterback/third baseman Rio Ruiz. Fellow Perfect Game All-American Jameis Winston from Alabama and Anthony Alford from Mississippi would be the first two that come to mind. Each has signed a football scholarship to Florida State and Southern Mississippi, respectively, while Ruiz’s Southern California scholarship is for baseball. Despite that, there may not be another top player in the country that has had to do more balancing between the two sports than Ruiz. That may be in the nature of being in the fish bowl of Southern California and going to one of the best known high schools in the region, or it just might be the result of Ruiz trying to go 100-percent in both sports.

2011 Perfect Game All American C.J. Saylor

CJ is currently playing for the San Diego State Aztecs

Perfect Game Report: With a strong, compact frame, Saylor is fundamentally sound with polished defensive tools. As evidenced by a 1.77 pop time, he has plus arm strength and a quick, clean release. Saylor uses a short, compact swing to spray line drives to all parts of the ballpark. He projects as a high average hitter that likes the ball down in the zone and squares up the ball well. Perfect Game ranks Saylor #3 nationally among all catchers.

2010 Perfect Game All American Christian Lopes

Christian Lopes is a 2011 MIF/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Huntington Beach, CA who attends Edison. Medium framed strong athletic build, limited physical projection. Open stance, good balance, excellent bat speed, quick short hands to the ball, looks to pull and lift, definite power potential, very quick twitch with the bat. Did not run 60 but has been 6.7/6.8 runner in the past, very aggressive base runner, will steal a base. Quick defensive actions, sure hands, gets rid of the ball quickly, arm strength seems recovered from 2009 elbow injury. Good student. Selected to Aflac All American Team.

2009 Perfect Game All American Dylan Covey

Dylan was drafted in the first round by the Brewers but decided to attend the U of San Diego.  He was later drafter by the Oakland A's and currently playing in the Minor League system.

Dylan Covey is a 2010 RHP with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Pasadena, CA who attends Maranatha HS. Strong, athletic build. Did not pitch due to minor injury, top level pitching prospect, plus FB/CB in Fall. Mid 90s with life and command. Very sharp breaking ball. Highest level power pitcher and potential MLB workhorse. Very good all around athlete, 6.90 runner, bat speed hitting, power approach, takes an aggressive hack, two-way college potential. Possible first round pick on the mound. Verbal to San Diego. Aflac All-American

2007 Perfect Game All American Gerrit Cole

Gerrit was drafted in the first round by the Yankees coming out of HS.  He attended UCLA and after three year was taken as the first player in the draft by the Pirates.  He is having a Cy Young type of season this year.

Gerrit Cole is a 2008 RHP with a 6'3'', 190 lb. frame from Santa Ana, CA who attends Orange Lutheran HS. He has a present strong build with broad shoulders and some projection. Cole has electric stuff and throws with minimal effort and a simple delivery. His fastball was consistently 94-96 mph and had very late, hard boring life at times. Cole's slider was 81 mph with good bite and plenty of depth and he showed nice feel for a change up, unsual for a young power pitcher. The most impressive thing about Cole, aside from how easily he throws high velocity fastballs, is that he shows a mean streak on the mound and attacks hitters with an aggressive purpose. He has the chance to be a very high draft pick next June should he maintain the stuff and approach he showed in Cincinnati. Cole has committed to UCLA. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American team.

2007 Perfect Game All American Ricky Oropesa

Ricky players his career at USC before getting drafted by the San Francisco Giants. He is currently with the AA Richmond Flying Squirrels

Ricky Oropesa is a 2008 3B/1B/RHP with a 6'2'', 215 lb. frame from Rancho Cucamonga, CA who attends Etiwanda HS. He has a extra strong, mature build and is an intimidating presence at the plate. Oropesa has a big load and coil at the plate and a lift/power type of swing. The ball explodes off his bat and he has as much raw power as any hitter in the 2008 class. Oropesa's multi-part trigger and long swing creates some timing issues but when he's on a pitch and squares up the ball comes off his bat with big league velocity and he can hit the ball out to any field. Defensively, Oropesa has excellent arm strength at third base and playable agility and hands. If he works hard he can stay at third base as he matures. Should something happen with his bat, Oropesa could be a top prospect on the mound as well. He threw up to 94 mph from a power overhand release point that created a heavy downhill angle to his fastball. The velocity came easily for him and he showed command of his fastball. Selected to 2007 Aflac
